The Drama club puts on two performances per year, a play in the fall and a musical in the spring. Students in 4th-8th grades are invited to audition to be in the cast or crew.
Cast: Students who wish to act, sing or dance are encouraged to audition. All who audition are cast. The fee for auditioning is $40 for each play and will be charged through FACTS. This covers script materials, most costume pieces, and our pizza party. Actors will need to provide shoes and some costume pieces (i.e., black pants, white shirt, etc.) depending on their role in the show. Rehearsals are generally 2 days a week after school.
Crew: Students who want to help behind the scenes and not act will be part of the crew. The crew typically meets 5-10 times during the run of each show. Crew can help in set construction, sound, lights, backstage, selling tickets, etc. The fee for the crew is $20 and includes the pizza party.
Parent volunteers - We are always looking for parents to help with the program. This whole program started as a fun way to get parent volunteer points and has blossomed into a successful educational theatre department that has enriched the students of our school. We can use help in hair, makeup, set painting or construction, or just coming to help keep the students on task.
